Content Management Procedures

This is an online manual that outlines how to enter text, upload image files, post to blog, create a podcast, and use a school wiki through NewSchoolSpaces.net

How to enter text:

1. Create your document in a word processor or in a WYSIWYG editor if you wish to use HTML.

2. After you are logged into NewSchoolSpaces.net, scroll down and click on the "Create Content" link on the left side of the page under your username.

3. Click on "Page".

4. Give your page a title.

5. If you have used a word processor to create your document, you can cut and paste your document into the section labeled "Body". If you have used a WYSIWYG editor to create your document, you can save your file as HTML and then add it as an attachment to your page. If you wish to provide a summary in the "Body" section of your page, you may do so. Note: To add your file as an attachment, click on the "File attachments" link under the body of your page and follow the directions to attach. Please be aware of the file size limitations.

6. Click "Save". If you wish to view your document, click on the link you just created.

How to upload image files:

1. After you are logged into NewSchoolSpaces.net, scroll down and click on the "Create Content" link on the left side of the page under your username.

2. Click on "Page".

3. Give your page a title.

4. You can provide a description of your image in the "Body" section of your page if you wish to do so.

5. Click on the "File attachments" link under the "Body" section to attach your image.

6. Once you have clicked on the "File attachments" link, follow the instructions for completing the attachment. Please be cognizant of image size limitations.

7. Click "Save" and you are finished! If you wish, you may click on your link to view your image.

How to post to blog:

1. After you are logged into NewSchoolSpaces.net, scroll down and click on the "Create Content" link on the left side of the page under your username.

2. Click on "Blog".

3. Provide a title for your blog.

4. Write your blog in the section labeled "Body".

5. Once you have finished writing your blog, click "Save". If you wish to view your blog, click on the title of your post.

How to create a podcast:

1. You can create an audio file using Audacity, a program which allows its users to easily edit many types of audio.

2. Once you are logged into NewSchoolSpaces.net, scroll down and click on the "Create Content" link on the left side of the page under your username.

3. Click on "Page".

4. Provide a title for your page.

5. If you wish, you can provide a brief summary of the podcast in the "Body" section of your page.

6. To upload your podcast, click on the "File attachments" link under the section labeled "Body". Select the file you wish to attach, and follow the instructions to complete the attachment process.

7. Click "Save". If you wish to listen to your podcast, click on the link you have just created.

How to use a school wiki through NewSchoolSpaces.net:

1. Once you are logged into NewSchoolSpaces.net, scroll down and click on the "Create Content" link on the left side of the page under your username.

2. Click on "Forum topic".

3. Provide a "Subject" for your forum.

4. Post your forum information in the section labeled "Body".

5. As the creator of the forum, you have control over who is involved in your forum and what each person will be able to do regarding inputing and editing information.

6. Click "Save".
